Session Description
Loneliness truly has become an epidemic and the mental and physical health impacts are far reaching. The Caching Memories program was created to address social isolation and loneliness among older adults, connecting them for virtual conversations with college students to reminisce and build relationships. While the pairs share stories and build trust, AI is leveraged behind the scenes to help identify needs and match the older adult to local resources. These resources are then incorporated into future conversations to help the older adult build a stronger local social network so that sustainable connections continue long after the program ends.
