The Root Cause Coalition (TRCC) is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2024 Health Justice Award that recognizes and honors organizations that have successfully implemented a program or intervention to reduce health disparities within the past three years. Courtesy of the gracious sponsorship of Aetna, a CVS Health company, the winner of the award will receive $25,000 and will be formally recognized at TRCC’s Annual National Summit on the Social Drivers of Health which will take place October 6-8, 2024 in Baltimore, MD.  The award will be presented on Monday, October 7.  

Four organizations will be selected as finalists, and one of those four will be selected as the Award recipient.

Selection Criteria and Eligibility

• Organization’s work aligns with TRCC’s mission of collaborating across sectors to improve and achieve health equity for all.
  
  
• Organization engaged members of the community as part of developing or implementing their work.
  
  
• Organization’s work demonstrates success to change systems that negatively impact health outcomes relating to one or more social drivers of health.
  
  
• Organization’s work specifically focuses on challenges/needs of groups most affected by health and disparities.
  
  
• Organization has successfully implemented a program or intervention to reduce health disparities within the past three years.
  
  
• The organization’s work must be primarily based in the United States.
  
  

Please be thorough in your responses to the questions and include all information that you believe is relevant for review of this nomination.  Self-nominations by organizations are encouraged!

Timeline

The application for the award opens Monday, April 15, 2024.

To be considered for the award, applicants must complete the following form and submit it by 11:59 pm PT, Sunday June 16.

The winner will be contacted by TRCC on or before June 26, 2024 to ensure that they can make plans to attend the award ceremony at the National Summit on October 7, 2024.
