Collecting, Using, and Sharing Social Determinants of Health Data to Improve Health and Health Outcomes

Thursday, November 14, 2024 (2:00 PM - 3:00 PM) (EST)

Description

At the 2023 Root Cause Coalition Summit, AHIMA shared the results of its comprehensive research survey related to social determinants of health (SDOH) data. The challenges and opportunities identified in that research informed the creation of Data for Better Health, an effort to increase awareness of how collecting, using, and sharing SDOH data can improve health and healthcare outcomes. Throughout the past year, AHIMA has convened experts, highlighted best practices, and formed partnerships to take on this issue. This webinar will highlight best practices related to the collection, use, and sharing of SDOH data. It will also feature lessons learned from Data for Better Health, including the need to work together with both internal and external stakeholders to maximize the value of SDOH data and improve outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand challenges and opportunities related to the collection, use, and sharing of SDOH data;
  • Learn best practices that have been successfully utilized by organizations across the country; and
  • Understand how collaboration amongst internal and external stakeholders, including health information professionals, related to SDOH data is critical to improving health outcomes.

Registrants will receive an e-mail ink to this virtual webinar.
